Modified on Thu, 15 Jun, 2023 at 5:28 PM

This article describes the steps you need to take in google maps (https://www.google.com/maps) in order to create a KML file that will work if you add it in the Geo Areas field in Revma session rules.

  1. Open Google maps https://www.google.com/maps/d/

  2. Click on “Create New Map”

  3. Click “Draw a line”, then on “Draw a line or shape”.

  4. Select a layer and click where to start “drawing”.

  5. Click each corner or bend of your line or shape. To move the map, click and hold the mouse.
Keep in mind to make clear lines without any overlaps.

  6. When you’re finished drawing, double-click or complete the shape.

  7. In the left panel, click on the “More” option (3 dots) and then Export to KML/KMZ.

  8. On KML export settings make sure you have selected the specific layer that you wish to use.

  9. Click on "Export as KML instead of KMZ. Does not support all icons."

  10. Click on “Download”.
