Revma Stream Alerts

Modified on Mon, 23 Sep at 12:15 PM

This article explains what each email alert means. Email alerts are triggered when a user has the “Stream Alert” feature enabled in a station. To enable this feature, navigate to Settings>Broadcast, check the box next to “Enable alert” and add the email(s) you wish to receive the alerts on. If multiple emails are used, they need to be separated by commas (no spaces). These emails must be of Revma signed-up users.

Gateway Link Connected/Disconnected

Encoder alerts that fall under this category, will notify Revma users in regards to activity of connection or disconnection of a primary or a failover encoder, as well as that of a failover url (which will only take over when no encoder is connected). No listeners are required in order for these email alerts to be sent. The email alert's subject will read "Revma Encoder Alert" and their content will provide more information on the specifics of this alert.

Gateway Link Swapped

Encoder alerts that fall under this category, will notify Revma users in regards to activity of swapping between a primary and failover encoder (and vice versa) as the active source of a station. No listeners are required in order for these email alerts to be sent. The email alert's subject will read "Revma Encoder Alert" and their content will provide more information on the specifics of this alert.

Audio Source Connected/Disconnected

Encoder alerts that fall under this category, will notify Revma users in regards to activity of the first audio source (encoder or relay) connecting to the station and the last audio source (encoder or relay) disconnecting from the station. For these email alerts to be sent, no listeners are required if the source is an encoder but listeners are required if the source is a relay link. The email alert's subject will read "Revma Encoder Alert" and their content will provide more information on the specifics of this alert.

Relay Connected/Disconnected

Encoder alerts that fall under this category, will notify Revma users if a relay link source has connected or disconnected. This applies only in transcoding relays and loop channel stations with a relay link as their source and only when a listener is active. The email alert's subject will read "Revma Alert" and their content will provide more information on the specifics of this alert.

Silence detected/voided

Encoder alerts that fall under this category, will notify Revma users in regards to activity of silence detected (LUFS being lower than -50 for 2 consecutive minutes) and silence no longer being present (LUFS being higher that -50 for the past minute). No listeners are required in order for these email alerts to be sent. The email alert's subject will read "Revma Stream Loudness Alert" and their content will provide more information on the specifics of this alert. Keep in mind that, after the first “Silence detected” email alert, email alerts are sent in 30 minute intervals if silence continues to be present.

Keep in mind that Revma includes a 'switch source on silence' mechanism when two encoders are connected. More on this functionality here.
The 'silence detected/voided' email alerts will be generated only in regards to the active source.
